Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience managing complex accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (or IFRS) and internal accounting policies
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits
• Monitor and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Review and approve work prepared by junior accounting staff
• Identify process improvements and implement best practices
• Ensure timely filing of tax reports and compliance with regulations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4-7+ years of accounting experience (public or corporate)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Excel
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus
