Solution Engineering Development Program The Solution Engineering Development Program (SEDP) is a comprehensive training program for recent bachelor’s degree graduates. The role is based in Wendell, NC and begins in August 2026. Program Overview The program spans 18 months and provides hands‑on experience, mentorship, and exposure across the Industry & Infrastructure solution business. Participants rotate through key functions—drafting, quality testing, bid management, and solution engineering—to build technical skills and define a long‑term career path. You’ll Make an Impact by Rotating through various teams in the I&I Solutions Group every six months, receiving mentorship and hands‑on training in each focus area. Phase 1: Electrical & Mechanical Drafting (6 months) Build a foundation in electrical and mechanical drafting, learning design constraints and creating inter‑wiring schedules using industry‑standard tools. Support the Solutions Integration Engineering team with electrical and mechanical design documentation. Phase 2: Inspections & Testing (6 months) Test low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment at the Knightdale, NC workshop, including interconnection wiring of medium voltage switchgear, transformers, and low voltage panels. Follow schematic drawings, wire lists, and manufacturing layouts while receiving mentorship from engineering professionals and operational leaders. Phase 3: Application Engineering (6 months) Support bid management and customer proposals within the Industry & Infrastructure offer team, learning to read and respond to customer specifications and tenders. Develop expertise in the project proposal process, interacting with sub‑suppliers and procurement teams, and learning to set up comprehensive customer offers. Phase 4: Junior Solution Engineer Role (Program Outcome) Upon successful completion, transition into a Junior Solution Engineer position supporting power distribution and sustainability projects within the Solutions Engineering team. Apply the skills and knowledge gained during the rotations while working alongside senior engineers on customer projects from design through commissioning. Basic Qualifications Current enrollment or recent completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (graduating between Spring 2025 and Spring 2026). Legally authorized for permanent employment in the United States. Ability to perform tasks in a manufacturing environment, including standing, reaching, lifting, and engaging directly with tools or equipment. Willingness and ability to relocate to Wendell, NC; relocation and housing support is provided for moves greater than 50 miles. Preferred Qualifications Mechanical and electrical inclination with a hands‑on approach to learning. Strong communication skills and collaborative team player. Open‑mindedness and ability to work effectively in diverse team environments. Experience with mechanical engineering concepts in addition to formal electrical engineering education. Benefits Pay range: $80,000.00 – $82,000.00 annually. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications.
