Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose a range of mental health disorders.
• Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans for each patient, incorporating their individual needs and treatment goals.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, continuously monitoring their effectiveness and making dosage adjustments as necessary.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy, implementing various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care for patients, ensuring a holistic approach to their treatment.
• Educate patients and their families about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
• Document patient progress meticulously, including medication responses, therapy outcomes, and any changes in symptoms.
• Engage in regular follow-up appointments to assess treatment efficiency and adjust care plans according to patients' evolving needs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences, contributing to the continuous improvement of care protocols.
• Maintain a proactive approach in professional development and staying current with the latest advancements in psychiatric care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be the residents of our assisted living facility, many of whom face complex mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and dementia-related challenges. By developing tailored treatment approaches, the PMHNP will directly contribute to improving the mental health and quality of life for these individuals, enhancing their resilience and coping strategies.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing; a Master's degree in psychiatric-mental health nursing is required.
• Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is essential.
• A valid nursing license in the state of Nevada, with no disciplinary actions against it.
• Strong commitment to patient-centered care and a compassionate approach to mental health treatment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in assisted living or outpatient mental health settings is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
