About the role

Rippling is moving fast, and our commercial legal team is the engine driving our growth. We're looking for a sharp, hyper-motivated, and relentlessly curious Senior Contracts Manager to step in as a true strategic partner to our Sales, RevOps, BD, and Procurement teams.In this role, you won't just process paper, you will actively unlock revenue, navigate high-stakes deals, and build the scalable systems that keep Rippling ahead of the curve. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Counsel, Commercial, you'll have a front-row seat (and a hands-on steering wheel) in building a world-class commercial legal function at scale.

What You'll Do

• Drive the Deal Pipeline: Act as the ultimate cross-functional partner for Sales, Procurement, and BD, answering the call, untangling roadblocks, and clearly articulating our legal and commercial positions.
• Negotiate & Protect: Draft, review, and negotiate high-impact commercial agreements. You'll sit across the table from customer counsel, finding win-win solutions that unblock revenue while fiercely safeguarding Rippling's risk profile.
• Build for Scale: Redesign contract operations to eliminate friction. You will architect scalable systems for handling everything from Terms of Service and NDAs to complex partnership structures.
• Optimize Playbooks & Tools: Own and evolve our legal playbooks, establish cross-functional best practices, and design self-serve tools and training that empower teams to move faster.
• Analyze & Elevate: Leverage data to track deal velocity, shorten contract lifecycles, and identify negotiation trends that help us optimize future playbooks.

What You'll Bring

• 8+ years experience in contract management, legal ops, or paralegal roles within fast-paced tech or SaaS environments. You deeply understand SaaS business models, licensing, and key commercial terms.
• Mastery in Negotiation: Proven ability to go toe-to-toe with opposing counsel while maintaining strong, productive relationships.
• High-Speed Prioritization: A proven track record of orchestrating multiple high-priority deals and shifting deadlines without breaking a sweat.
• Operational Precision: Meticulous attention to detail paired with a passion for designing slick, efficient processes.
• Tech Stack Fluency: Hands-on experience with modern CRM and CLM platforms (Salesforce, Ironclad, etc.) and Slack.
• Entrepreneurial Edge: A self-starter mindset with an insatiable curiosity about how our business works and a passion for solving novel problems.

This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone's compensation-including a candidate's professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.
