Ignite Communication and Change Lives in Fort Wayne – Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us
Imagine a career that empowers individuals to express themselves, fostering connection and confidence at every stage of life. As a Speech Language Pathologist in Fort Wayne, your role transcends the treatment of speech and swallowing disorders; it is about transforming lives. With each session, you will support everyone from the littlest learners taking their first steps towards vocal expression to seniors regaining their independence and voice.
In this vibrant city, you will have the chance to impact a diverse clientele across the lifespan in an engaging environment that merges outpatient care with occasional inpatient duties. If your heart beats for pediatric development, adult communication recovery, or elderly cognitive support, you will find a rewarding path here, tailored to your expertise and aspirations.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized tools and observational insights.
- Create individualized treatment strategies to meet the unique short-term and long-term needs of each patient related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy focused on enhancing communication skills, fluency, voice articulation, and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
- Educate patients and their families to encourage progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Occasionally provide inpatient speech therapy evaluations and support for continuity of care throughout all patient interactions.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in line with relevant guidelines and standards.
- Engage in ongoing learning to stay abreast of innovations within the field through education and collaboration with peers.
Education Requirements
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications Needed
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be completed within 30 days of hire.
Essential Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based therapy for varying ages, with knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, fostering rapport with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team.
- Flexibility to adapt therapy techniques to suit cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Exemplary clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable navigating electronic health records and adhering to documentation standards.
Benefits of Joining Our Team
- Competitive salary reflective of your experience level.
- Flexible scheduling to achieve a work-life balance catered to your needs.
- Various opportunities to specialize in pediatrics, adult rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) including holiday pay.
- Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Support for continuing education and professional growth.
- Be part of a collaborative environment focused on delivering quality care and ongoing learning.
A Rewarding Career Awaits You
In this role, you won't just help individuals with speech therapy — you'll be immersed in a mission that seeks to resonate joy and healing through the art of communication. Join a compassionate community where colleagues support one another like family, fostering a collaborative environment that highlights teamwork over competition. Each patient has a voice, and we need your expertise to help them find it.

Is This You?
We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist characterized by an innate sense of empathy. If you can look at a shy child and envision their journey to expressing themselves, if a survivor's hesitant words inspire your drive to aid in their recovery, you are just who we need.
You might be an expert in pediatric therapy wanting to broaden your services, or perhaps a specialist in neuro-based recovery keen to enrich your scope to include early interventions.
If you feel called to serve with compassion and a deft skill set, we would be delighted to have you join our mission.
Let's Connect Through Communication
If your philosophy sees speech transcending mere sounds, and therapy as a meaningful interaction — if you resonate with the principles of building trust and sharing joy — then this could mark an enriching chapter in your career path.
Join us in a community that treasures communication, connection, and the courage of renewal. Apply now to bring your voice to our initiative — and support others in discovering theirs.
