LITIGATION PARALEGAL

Grimes Galvano, PL, with offices in Bradenton, Sarasota, and West Palm Beach, Florida, has an immediate opening in our Bradenton office for an experienced Litigation Paralegal.

The successful candidate must be a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) and have a minimum of 2 years of litigation experience. Experience working in criminal law/criminal defense matters is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will provide assistance to attorneys throughout all phases of the litigation process and should be comfortable working with both civil and criminal matters.

Responsibilities

·         Draft and prepare basic pleadings, motions, notices, and other legal documents for attorney review and filing.

·         Assist attorneys with both civil litigation and criminal matters from case initiation through resolution.

·         Maintain pleadings, discovery, and case indexes.

·         Assist with discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and other discovery matters.

·         Gather relevant information and documentation from a variety of sources.

·         Organize exhibits, documents, briefs, appendices, discovery materials, and case files.

·         Assist with preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.

·         Prepare trial exhibits and witness preparation binders.

·         Assist with criminal case preparation, including maintaining case files, coordinating discovery materials, and preparing documents and exhibits for hearings and trial.

·         Attend telephone conferences and prepare synopsis memoranda.

·         Redact confidential or sensitive information from documents.

·         Coordinate with attorneys, clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

·         Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) required.

·         Minimum of 2 years of litigation paralegal experience.

·         Criminal law/criminal defense experience strongly preferred.

·         Working knowledge of pleadings, motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court procedures, and trial preparation.

·         Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.

·         Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a collaborative legal team.

·         Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
