This contract role offers the opportunity to work directly with K–12 students, supporting their unique learning needs across several respected school districts. You’ll collaborate with dedicated district staff, providing essential guidance and instruction, and ensuring every student has the resources they need to thrive.

This itinerant position involves traveling between schools, giving you the chance to engage with diverse learners and educators throughout Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown. As a valued contributor, your expertise will be key to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where students with visual impairments can access the curriculum and develop the confidence to succeed.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current Pennsylvania teaching certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
• Prior experience working in a K–12 educational setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to travel within York County to serve multiple schools
• Ability to develop and implement individualized and group instruction

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of students with visual impairments
• Assess student abilities and monitor progress
• Collaborate with other educators, related service providers, and families
• Adapt curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility for students
• Advocate for appropriate accommodations and modifications within school settings
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and documentation processes
