Empower students across York County as a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This rewarding contract opportunity allows you to support K-12 learners in an itinerant role, collaborating with district staff to bring individualized education to students who are blind or visually impaired. Serving multiple school districts in the area, you’ll make a meaningful difference every day, helping students build confidence and independence.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
• Experience providing instruction or support to visually impaired students, preferably in K-12 settings
• Strong communication and organization skills; ability to travel between sites as needed
• Collaborative mindset, working closely with general and special education staff
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide itinerant vision services to K-12 students across several school districts
• Assess students’ needs and adapt curriculum/instructional materials for accessibility
• Offer direct and consultative support in collaboration with district colleagues and families
• Monitor student progress and contribute to IEP meetings and documentation
• Serve as a resource to general educators regarding accommodations, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility concepts
• Travel between multiple sites within York County as part of the school schedule
