Talent Acquisition Recruiter

Overview M&T Bank is seeking a Recruiter located in Hauppauge, NY. The role manages candidate development across all talent levels, building relationships with key industry players in person and via telephone to generate qualified candidates for multiple search assignments. The recruiter oversees the candidate lifecycle from identification and qualification, through interviewing, to managing targeted candidates in order to rapidly produce a best‑in‑class slate of talent that meets or exceeds M&T’s internal client expectations. Primary Responsibilities Serve as a subject‑matter expert in talent attraction. Work with line managers to develop talent‑pipeline strategies, interview, qualify and recommend top candidates. Proactively source and attract a quality workforce and maintain an applicant flow to fill current and future staffing needs. Counsel line managers on recommended compensation packages. Negotiate, extend offers and effectively close candidates. Adhere to government regulations, organizational policies and data integrity. Build effective relationships with HR Business Partners, line management and employees. Provide insights into the competition for talent on a routine basis. Attend job fairs and/or open houses. Collaborate with Associate Recruiters to ensure appropriate sourcing support for lines of business. Manage special projects as assigned. Identify risk‑related issues needing escalation to management. Promote a culture that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulator‑related issues. Complete other related duties as assigned. Scope of Responsibilities The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with M&T management, employees and external applicants and community contacts. Education and Experience Required College degree or progressive experience in recruiting may be considered in lieu of education. Minimum two years total recruitment experience and/or relevant business‑line experience. Strong sales ability, persuasion and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and engagements simultaneously. Ability to function in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment. Proactive approach and proven diligence in searches. Experience with identifying passive job seekers. Fast response time, consistency and success. Strong knowledge of personal computers and related software programs with internet experience. Superior consultative skills and ability to influence decisions. Education and Experience Preferred Experience working for Human Resources within a corporate environment. Demonstrated ability in cold calling, name generation and networking. Experience with Human Resources applicant tracking systems. Demonstrated recruitment success in acquiring niche talent. Location Hauppauge, New York, United States. Salary $75,900.00 – $126,500.00 Annual (USD).
