Manual Machinist

Owen Daniels is currently partnered with a AOG equipment business, with over 30 years of history in the UK and a growing US operation. They are seeking a skilled Machinist to operate a variety of machines including mills, lathes, aluminum/steel saws, and a tube bender - producing and repairing precision parts to accurate specifications.

Job Summary

• Review drawings or instructions to understand specifications and requirements
• Plan the sequence of actions needed to complete a job, ensuring correct machining setup
• Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
• Select appropriate machines and position or load material for each job
• Determine and program batch size, machine speed, and related parameters
• Monitor machines during operation, adjusting feed and temperature and identifying issues
• Check output against specifications, reporting and discarding defects as needed
• Keep records of approved and defective units
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs

Required and Desirable Experience

• Proven experience as a machinist
• Experience using manual machines (lathes, mills, etc.)
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) for accurate measurement
• Knowledge of metal and material properties
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship a plus
• Tooling/fixture design experience (ideal but not essential)

Key Details

• Location: Arlington, TX
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday 6:30am–4:30pm, Friday 6:30am–10:45am, plus overtime
