Analyst I Under the supervision of the HSU Supervisor I, the Analyst I assists the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) Health and Safety Officer in the development, implementation, and tracking of department-wide safety policies, procedures, programs, contracts, and related training, and provides consultation and communications to all levels of staff. Analyst II Under the general direction of the HSU Supervisor I, the Analyst II assists the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) Health and Safety Officer in the development, implementation, and tracking of department-wide safety policies, procedures, programs, contracts, and related training, and provides consultation and communications to all levels of staff. Desirable Qualifications Experience organizing and establishing workload priorities in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Experience assigning and tracking assignments through completion. Experience in tracking and trending injury and illness rates. Experience with developing and implementing training programs and tracking attendance compliance. Experience assisting in training through different platforms (e.g., classroom, video, teams, webinar, presentations). Experience in the use of training related tools and software, such Learning Management Systems (LMS), MS Office Suite, PowerPoint. Experience with contract management. Excellent analytical methods and reporting of findings; excellent practice of principles of verbal, written, and visual communication. Knowledge of health and safety laws, rules and regulations; civil service laws, rules and regulation; as well as State and Departmental policies and procedures. Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations objectively and consistently. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and writing. Ability to use good judgment and make sound decisions. Ability to research, analyze, evaluate information, take effective action, and provide recommendations to leadership. Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, with outstanding time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member. Working Conditions Hybrid Telework: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need. The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is an emergency response, homeland security, and disaster recovery agency and as a result, is a dynamic and exciting place to work in a team-oriented environment. Cal OES provides training to enhance the understanding of emergency and incident management to all employees. The Finance & Logistics Administration Directorate oversees sections managing Cal OES operations including budgeting, fiscal analysis, accounting, grants management, human resources, labor relations, staff recruitment, examinations, organization and professional development, disaster and internal logistics support. The Directorate is comprised of four sections: Administrative Services, Human Resources, Grants Management and Logistics. Emergency Service Requirements In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.
