Account Manager

Develop and maintain customer group benefits insurance strategies Manage an assigned book of business, primarily for clients with less than 50 lives Market and manage assigned clients Coordinate the renewal marketing process with clients and provide program structure, review, and analysis Provide technical competence in coverage areas and current markets Conduct or participate in virtual open enrollment meetings, health fairs, and webinars Audit client information, premiums, and commissions in the EPIC HIB client management system Educate and clarify coverage forms for clients Assist with distributing marketing results, including benefit comparisons Maintain Benefits Administration systems for assigned accounts Assist with group applications and policy termination notices Thoroughly document each account and follow proper E&O procedures Handle complex accounts Perform other assigned duties and special projects Report to the Benefits Manager Requirements High School graduate required Minimum of 2 years working experience in group health insurance or with a benefits brokerage/consulting firm Active CA Life & Disability license is required Adaptable, self-starter, with experienced decision-making skills Effective written and oral communication and collaboration skills Problem solving, analytical, and marketing skills required Organized and able to manage time effectively Proficient with MS Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Professional demeanor and behavior Must embody the Heffernan Habits Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in developing and managing group benefits insurance strategies, with a strong focus on client communication, technical competence in coverage areas, and effective time management.
