Assistant Medical Director

Position Overview

The Assistant Medical Director of the Montefiore School Health Program, a primary care provider in the Bronx, will lead medical staff and ensure compliance with institutional standards. This half‑time position works alongside the Medical Director and Nursing leadership to deliver high‑quality care to nearly 40,000 students.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise physicians and nurse practitioners, including coaching, discipline, chart reviews, and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations in collaboration with the Medical Director.
• Create a positive work environment and culture.
• Provide clinical practice management support to medical providers, improving patient flow and evidence‑based care standards.
• Ensure staff compliance with Montefiore Medical Center bylaws, rules and regulations.
• Assist the Medical Director in initiatives related to clinical quality, patient safety and office improvement.
• Plan and facilitate periodic physician meetings.
• Collaborate with Program Managers to identify strategic opportunities and resolve operational issues.
• Investigate and respond to patient complaints in partnership with the Site Administrator.
• Assist in interviewing, selecting, orienting and mentoring new providers.

Measures of Success

• Clinical performance improvement measures (QARR, HEDIS, MSHP Monthly Sites Report, MMG Smart Reports).
• MMG Indicator Measures such as provider productivity, meaningful use reports, unsigned document reports, and DELL billing logs.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
• Active NYS Medical License.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics or Family Medicine.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Benefits and Compensation

Remuneration: $180,000.00 – $220,000.00 (salary range). Regular full‑time, day shift (8AM–4:30PM), 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Location: Bronx, New York.
