Position Summary Do you have experience migrating data in and out of iManage? Are you looking to put your digital technology experience to use in a new, exciting and challenging position? This newly created role is perfect for the experienced digital professional who is looking to be the point person in our New York office handle all matters relating to the flow of confidential data in and out of Benesch. Join our team and play a pivotal role in helping to shape the success of the firm's information governance. The Information Governance Specialist is responsible for the intake, management, protection, retention, transfer, and disposition of data across the Firm. This position requires strong confidentiality and digital technology skills. This role involves collaboration with the Firm's Risk Management Department, IT Department, and Cybersecurity Department. Essential Functions Assists in the management of digital data, including, but not limited to, the bulk import and export of files into and out of iManage, network shares, SaaS platforms such as Citrix ShareFile and email archive. Assists the Information Governance Mobility Analyst with attorney onboarding and departures, collaborating with the Records and Information Governance Manager. Transfers electronic client matter files to external parties in accordance with established procedures. Assists in the establishment of policies and procedures to manage data on network shares that promote industry best practices and are in line with other Firm policies and procedures. Assists with the administration of Firm collaboration and file sharing tools. Promotes operational efficiency and provides a high level of customer service. Observes confidentiality of client and Firm matters. Executes data retention and destruction initiatives and projects. Assists with the digitization of hard copy files. Additional Responsibilities Provides individual and special records and information governance project request services as needed. Proficient in all department and Firm software. Demonstrates excellent client service and communication skills. Maintains a complete understanding of Firm policies and goals and fosters and embraces the Benesch culture. Performs other records and information governance duties as assigned. Qualifications The Information Governance Specialist must have at least 3-4 years' of law firm or records experience. Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi-task. Must possess an excellent customer service attitude. The salary range for this position is $77K to $98K. Please note that quoted salary ranges are based on Benesch's good faith belief at the time of the job posting and are not a guarantee of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that Benesch provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work.
