Senior Director, Pharmacokinetics

Merck seeks a Senior Director of Pharmacokinetics to lead bioanalytical strategy and operations across discovery programs spanning multiple therapeutic modalities. This role combines scientific leadership with team management, requiring oversight of bioanalytical activities, portfolio strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to enable regulatory and development readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and portfolio leadership for bioanalytical strategy across discovery programs with focus on data quality and decision-making impact
• Drive operational excellence through workflow optimization, automation, and continuous improvement of bioanalytical processes
• Manage and develop team of DMPK representatives, bioanalytical leaders, and scientists with clear expectations and career development support
• Represent PDMB on cross-functional discovery and development teams, integrating bioanalytical and regulatory perspectives to guide decisions
• Monitor external scientific and regulatory trends in bioanalysis and champion implementation of new methodologies and best practices

Requirements

• Master's degree with 15+ years or Ph.D. with 12+ years in pharmacokinetics, bioanalytical chemistry, or related scientific discipline
• Demonstrated scientific and operational leadership in bioanalysis including assay strategy, method development, and validation
• Strong understanding of bioanalytical approaches for biologics, conjugates, peptides, small molecules, and novel modalities
• Proven experience managing portfolios of programs and aligning deliverables with scientific milestones
• People leadership experience including team development, performance management, and building high-performing scientific teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and senior leadership audiences
• Strong collaboration and influencing abilities across functions, sites, and external organizations
