Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor directs the daily activities of the maintenance team in the mechanical section. These activities include efficiency in all phases of installations, as well as planned or forced interruption events within the guidelines of duties and responsibilities listed below, projects, coordinates, and organizes work. Must meet the need of the plant and in turn impact the smooth operation of the company.

Duties of the Position:

• Conducts daily safety meetings with the work group for safety and production.
• Leads daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings and defends the plant's safety program effectively and equally for all employees.
• Responsible for providing good and solid judgment on cost reduction, work duration, and maintaining good relations in the plant with all employees, contractors, and suppliers.
• Delivers clear instructions and expectations for performance and to help in continuous improvement.
• Maintains tools according to OSHA and regulatory requirements, including all lifting/rigging equipment, slings, fall chains, come-alongs, and stranglers, etc.
• Contributes to the development of skills and abilities of maintenance staff.
• Supervises daily tasks and provides technical assistance, guidance, and recommendations on industry standards.
• Assists the Maintenance Manager and Planner by reviewing and following work schedules and planning.
• Reviews plans and specifications, evaluating feasibility, quality, and compliance.
• Supervises corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance throughout the Plant.
• Supervises, interprets, and performs necessary repairs on Plant equipment based on data from the preventive maintenance system, vibration analysis, and oil analysis programs.
• Supervises and controls the daily work scopes and projects of the Plant to ensure that activities are performed safely, accurately, and within established deadlines, in accordance with the company's standard operating procedures, as well as with regulatory norms and requirements.
• Solves technical/mechanical problems by collaborating with peers, supervisors, and management.
• Inspects and approves daily work performed by technical staff.
• Supervises the needs for tools and spare parts and verifies that adequate provisions for such equipment are included in inventory control systems.
• Ensures that workplaces, maintenance workshop, tool room, and oil storage areas are clean and tidy daily.
• Conducts reviews and performance evaluations of staff.
• Requests quotes for services and places purchase orders in the corresponding system.
• Coordinates and collaborates with multiple workgroups to ensure continuity of work.
• Keeps clean all areas of the facility in general, auxiliary equipment, and operational and external area of the units.
• Drives light or heavy vehicles.
• Performs a complete vehicle inspection before use.
• Fosters a positive work environment that motivates individuals and groups to achieve their goals in the organization.
• Other duties as required by operational necessity.

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related industry area from a properly accredited U.S. or Puerto Rico university, preferably, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in the maintenance area, power plant operations, or a related field.
• Able and available to obtain transportation credentials certification (TWIC).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Fluency in English, mandatory.
• Current driver's license in P.R.
• Team collaboration and interpersonal skills to ensure efficient task completion.

• Time optimization to ensure task and project planning and prioritization.
• Adaptability and flexibility to operational necessity changes.
