Roles And Responsibilities Manage time efficiently and effectively prioritize competing tasks and responsibilities. Communicate with team members, management, vendors, and customers regarding purchasing activities, order status, and potential issues. Demonstrate initiative in identifying problems and developing effective solutions. Order industrial components, materials, supplies, and other products as needed. Generate, process, and track purchase orders and verify order accuracy and delivery. Monitor inventory levels and work with purchasing and shop personnel to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Assist with maintaining and improving purchasing and inventory processes and systems. Research and source products across all departments, including maintenance, machining, mold making, safety, and operations. Input and maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and vendor information within the ERP system. Monitor supplier performance, lead times, pricing, and product availability. Assist with identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative products or suppliers. Research and establish relationships with new suppliers as needed. Maintain strong working relationships with existing vendors and suppliers. Communicate with vendors regarding order discrepancies, shortages, quality concerns, pricing, and delivery issues. Follow up on open purchase orders and communicate changes or delays to the appropriate team members. Assist with gathering purchasing and inventory information and generating reports as requested. Support continuous improvement efforts related to purchasing, inventory, and supply chain processes. Perform all duties in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001. May perform other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications & Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of purchasing, buying, procurement, or related experience preferred. Experience purchasing raw materials, industrial components, or manufacturing supplies preferred. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, coworkers, and management. Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills. Familiarity with sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and vendor relationships. Experience with ERP systems preferred. Ability to negotiate pricing, delivery, and other purchasing terms as needed. Physical Requirements The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects that are 25 lbs. or heavier.
