Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership in collaboration with the Nurse Manager/Director, physicians, and staff.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing and ancillary personnel on the unit; coordinate care delivery and staffing.
- Initiate and coordinate individual and team conferences to revise care plans for optimal, individualized patient care.
- Direct and monitor staff performance in patient care activities to ensure safety, quality, and appropriate use of resources.
- Participate in patient care as needed; conduct rounds to assess patient needs and introduce self to patients and families.
- Promote patient- and family-centered care, with attention to cultural diversity and individual preferences; address concerns and seek feedback.
- Develop strategies with leadership to improve patient satisfaction, outcomes, and the overall unit experience; investigate and address care or operational issues as they arise.
- Maintain competency with system-specific tools (e.g., electronic health records) and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Current registered nursing licensure in the state of practice (California)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum two years of recent nursing experience in acute care; two-plus years in a charge/lead role preferred
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- EPIC electronic health record experience required
- Trauma center experience preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital/acute care environment and support a 40-hour work week
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
