Description We are hiring for Surgical Technician positions in the Surgery Department at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK! Position: Full-time, Day Shift, 40 Hours Per Week. $10,000 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment Relocation Assistance available for eligible hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment. The Surgical Technician II provides support by anticipating the needs of the Surgeon and other surgical personnel by performing tasks that assist in the care and treatment of patients during the surgical process while maintaining a sterile work environment at all times. Performs decontamination of equipment, instruments and completes sterilization process. Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training: Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAAHEP) or other program accredited by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program. Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, or Upon hire: National Tech in Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Testing Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association Operating Room experience for candidates who have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology Program or have completed other accredited programs by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program. Candidates with equivalent other or at least six months of on the job clinical training must have minimum one year operating room experience scrubbing on surgical procedures. Why Join Providence? The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
