Work Environment\n

This role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while enabling you to connect with clients through our robust telehealth platform. Your work hours are primarily Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their distinct needs and challenges related to aging.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address the complexities of geriatric mental health, considering cognitive, physical, and social factors.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, to effectively manage geriatric psychiatric conditions such as depression and anxiety.

• Work closely with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, integrated care that aligns with best practices in geriatrics.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and ongoing support during mental health emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of our elderly patients.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, available treatment options, and community resources tailored to their needs.

• Maintain thorough, accurate documentation in adherence to legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies.

• Engage actively in team meetings and professional development activities, sharing knowledge and insights to advance collective expertise.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at AdvantageCare, you will primarily work with elderly patients who are facing an array of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties related to aging. Your role is crucial in providing not only therapeutic support but also in fostering resilience and coping strategies among this vulnerable population.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New Jersey.

• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health issues and corresponding evidence-based treatment approaches.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with elderly patients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
