$60,250 per year - ($55,000 base salary + $387.50/mth auto stipend + $50/mth phone stipend)
Seeking energetic and self-motivated individuals to serve as a Growth Executive in local communities. This is a sales & leadership career focused on starting new Scouting units and recruiting youth into Scouting.

A Day in the Life of a Growth Executive
No two days are the same for a professional Scouter. No matter where they work, in the city, the suburbs, or the countryside, one thing is for certain- this is anything but an “office” job. Our field staff are typically found in the community, not behind a desk. The job of the Growth Executive is to recruit, train, and motivate Scouting America’s adult volunteers and to organize, support and grow local Scouting units. Professional Scouting responsibilities are cyclical and depending on the time of the year will determine the priorities and key tasks.

Starting Pay
The starting salary for this professional Scouting position is $55,000, plus a $387.50 monthly auto stipend ($4,650) and a $50 monthly phone stipend ($600). Annual salary adjustments are based on an individual’s merit contributions and overall performance.

Training
Annual professional development opportunities are provided, as well as constant on the job training and monthly staff meeting trainings.
In addition, this position is supported by monthly meetings with Scouting America’s national VP of Membership Engagement and all other Unit Growth Executive’s throughout the country.
Qualifications for Employment
Do you have the background needed for a career as a Scouting professional? Our self-starting leaders are frequently called upon to multi-task and combine many skills to get the job done. The basic qualifications are:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
· United States citizenship or declared intention to become a U.S. citizen
· Adult – 21 years of age
· People-oriented, having the ability to work well with adult volunteers, community and business leaders, and representatives of other organizations
· Able to work varied hours when necessary to achieve positive objectives / willing to work evenings and 1 – 2 weekends per month
· Willing to relocate to Rhode Island or Southeastern Massachusetts.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Believe in Scouting America’s mission and vision and willing to subscribe to its principles and standards
· Eligible to receive a professional Scouting commission (certification by our national organization) – a criminal background will be performed
· Bilingual skills are a plus!

- Strong sales, communication, marketing, and program development background is highly desired.
- Must be comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse audiences. Excellent people skills, enthusiastic, punctual, responsible, and creative.
- Self-motivated individual with solid time management skills and strong organizational skills in management, budgeting, and planning.
- Committed to personal and professional productivity, while maintaining high ethical and professional working standards.
Working Conditions
Hybrid work environment: Team members must have access to a home office to work from at least part-time. Daily communication with team members and volunteers via MS Teams and/or Zoom. Frequent one-on-one and group meetings in-person at council office (2-4 times per week). The team meets every Tuesday in the office. New team members will work in-person at our office for their first 90-days, then begin hybrid work. Team members must reside within reasonable commute time/distance of office.
Office setting: General operations are based in a well-lighted, heated, and ventilated office in a camp setting surrounded by forest, stream and ponds. An additional professional co-working space in Providence is available for daily work and meetings.
Must be able to work with frequent interruptions. Must possess good telephone etiquette and writing skills. Must be able to positively and effectively interact and communicate with team members, volunteers, donors, youth and the public on a daily basis.
