At Q-CTRL, our Sales & Business Development team supports business growth and client engagements across global markets by identifying and growing new opportunities and capabilities. We bring together bright and ambitious salespeople, positioning us as the leading provider of innovative solutions in quantum computing and quantum sensing. Our team members work closely with Product, Marketing, Design, and Research teams, ensuring customer feedback leads to continuous product improvement.

About the Role

Reporting to the VP of Sales & Business Development, you will be the Business Development Executive for Q-CTRL's Quantum Sensing Team. This role in particular will support our growth by identifying, pursuing, and shaping all future opportunities for the Quantum Sensing Business. 

In this role, your focus will be to generate and capture business opportunities. You will develop a deep understanding of the existing and prospective client base, know the current and planned programmatic and technical roadmap, and be cognizant of the current and changing competitive landscape. 

You will plan, initiate, and manage continuous engagements with current clients and prospective customers and monitor buying cycles for opportunities. You will support proposals and new customer efforts, including authoring and reviewing RFI, RFP, and other request responses and support the team in closing on new business. Specific emphasis will be placed on candidates that have experience with sensor products, and are familiar with the product lifecycle process from birth to sustainment.

What you'll be doing:

• Grow existing business: You will partner with product managers to identify opportunities for business growth with current clients. This doesn’t just include expanding on current work, but interfacing with existing partners to explore new opportunity areas by sustaining and building on the strong foundation of client relationships.
• Lead Management: You will be doing outreach, routine follow up of all leads and general interaction doing the sales motion.
• Engagement Management: You will work with customers who have purchased evaluation systems and be responsible for customer success.
• Mapping Ecosystem Builder: You will be an ecosystem builder and build and own partnerships with mapping companies.
• Communicate our value to clients: BD team members represent Q-CTRL to a broad audience: clients, partners, competitors, and the interested public. You must project the company’s core principles, conveying insights that illustrate our approach to building next-generation technology and our competitive edges in doing so.
• Inform product development: You will be a liaison between a current or prospective client and the product & engineering organizations, and as such must be able to translate their problem set into an actionable internal plan. You will need to interpret and convey various client needs to the engineering teams, help to inform and manage priorities and execution, keep stakeholders informed, and make sure that performance stays aligned to key milestones.

Ideally you'll have:

• 8+ years of proven strategic sales/BD experience with sensors or related hardware technology space
• Prior experience working at a startup is important, along with being hands on and scrappy
• Expertise in complex engineering systems
• Advanced degree in engineering or related field
• Prior military or contracting experience, or experience in DoD or Government
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Experience with government business development, government contract structures, and government proposal processes

It would be fantastic if you have these skills/experience:

• Demonstrated experience in working in the Sensing space
• Demonstrated strong writing skills, with experience in writing white papers, technical reports, and RFI/RFP responses
• Ability to interface with a wide range of US and international customers
• Bonus would be experience in Navigation and C4ISR

Salary

The targeted base salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $220,000 and will ultimately be determined by specific job-related skills, experience, level, location and other contributing factors. Depending on the position offered, this role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, equity and other forms of compensation outside of the targeted base salary range.
