Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a paraprofessional at a welcoming elementary school near Morrison, CO. This engaging role centers on providing individualized assistance to a friendly 5th grade student with a cognitive disability, fostering success in both academic and social settings.
Working within a supportive educational environment, you’ll collaborate closely with teaching staff to help deliver the best possible learning experience. With a convenient 4-day school week, your workdays run Monday through Thursday from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm—offering work-life balance and plenty of time for your personal commitments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is highly valued
- Knowledge of strategies for working with students with cognitive disabilities preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and families
- Patience, positivity, and a nurturing approach
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be reliable and professional
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support throughout the school day to a 5th grade student
- Reinforce classroom instruction and encourage student participation
- Assist with social integration and adaptive activities
- Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement individualized education plans
- Maintain accurate records and follow school protocols
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
