Facilities Support Specialist

The Facilities Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the operational integrity of both the manufacturing floor and corporate office areas within a shared facility. This includes ensuring that all building systems, infrastructure, and workspaces are safe, functional, and aligned with company standards. The role involves hands‑on maintenance, coordination with external vendors, and collaboration with internal teams to support business continuity, employee comfort, and regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and safety equipment across both office and manufacturing areas. Respond promptly to facility‑related service requests from both corporate and production teams, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Coordinate and oversee external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and facility improvement projects. Support space planning, office moves, and workstation setups in the corporate office area, ensuring ergonomic and functional layouts. Monitor and maintain facility safety systems including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and security systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Assist with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives, including audits, signage, and hazard mitigation across the entire facility. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment servicing using a CMMS or other tracking tools. Collaborate with internal departments to support facility‑related needs for meetings, events, and operational changes. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of shared spaces such as break rooms, restrooms, conference rooms, and common areas. Participate in emergency response procedures and support business continuity planning for the facility. Other job duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies: Knowledge Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Building and Construction — Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads. Customer and Personal Service— Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Production and Processing— Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Skills Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Repairing — Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Abilities Arm‑Hand Steadiness — The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations). Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

REQUIREMENTS

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or technical certification in facilities management, engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Certificates & Licenses: Certified Facility Manager (CFM), OSHA 30‑Hour Certification or equivalent, and/or First Aid/CPR Certification preferred. Other Requirements: Strong knowledge of building systems, mechanical equipment, and maintenance best practices, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
