Junior Accountant

Client: Advertising/Production Manufacturing Organization Role: Junior Accountant (Temporary to Permanent) Pay Rate: $27-$29/hr Location: Brooklyn, NY - Near the Brooklyn Navy Yard - *4 days a week onsite* Job Description Key Responsibilities Cash Application: Accurately post daily cash receipts and apply incoming customer payments to the appropriate accounts. Billing & Invoicing: Assist with junior-level billing operations, including the preparation, verification, and distribution of customer invoices. Accounts Receivable Support: Monitor outstanding balances, track aging reports, and conduct professional follow-ups on past-due invoices. Accounts Payable Assistance: Process basic accounts payable invoices and assist with vendor management as needed. Data Integrity: Maintain precise, up-to-date customer billing records and proactively resolve routine invoice discrepancies. Reconciliations & Reporting: Support the month-end close process by assisting with account reconciliations and other financial tracking. Team Support: Perform general accounting tasks and administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department. Qualifications & Skills Education: Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance , or a related field (must be available to work full-time, 40 hours/week). Core Knowledge: A solid foundational understanding of basic GAAP / accounting principles. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, VLOOKUPs, data sorting) and the broader Microsoft Office Suite. Soft Skills: Impeccable attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a high level of accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional customer follow-ups.
