Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexible working conditions while enabling effective communication and collaboration through telehealth platforms and electronic health records (EHR) systems. While most of your work will be done from the comfort of your home, you will be expected to occasionally visit our outpatient office in Fresno, California, to attend team meetings and other activities. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some evening shifts required to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments that account for the unique cognitive, physical, and social factors affecting the elderly population.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans in consultation with geriatric psychiatrists, ensuring a holistic approach to care.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including one-on-one and family therapy sessions, aimed at minimizing symptoms of geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Engage in crisis intervention to address acute mental health episodes, ensuring that patients receive immediate and appropriate care.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health disorders, treatment options, and relevant community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions.

• Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation consistent with ethical and regulatory practices.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and continual professional development to stay informed about best practices in geriatric mental health.

• Utilize EHR systems effectively for patient documentation and treatment tracking.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position involves working primarily with older adults facing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and cognitive disorders related to aging. You will connect with a diverse clientele, offering them the tools and support necessary to navigate the complexities of mental health in their later years. Building trust and rapport with patients and their families is essential to ensuring effective therapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a recognized institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.

• At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience, particularly in geriatric mental health.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of various geriatric mental health disorders and demonstrated use of evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused, empathetic approach to therapy.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and related digital tools.
\n
• A collaborative spirit, capable of working within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience providing both individual and family therapy to older adult populations.

• Familiarity with specific intervention strategies for common geriatric conditions, including but not limited to dementia and anxiety disorders.

Compensation and Benefits\n
