Job Title: Bookkeeper (Sage 100)

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Job Salary: $55,000-$65,000

Job Schedule: M-F, 40 hrs/week

Job Location: Houston, TX 77042

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with Sage 100 experience to manage day-to-day accounting operations for a growing telecommunications and light construction company. This role requires a hands-on, self-directed professional who can take ownership of the accounting function and support operational and project-based financial activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting job costing, project accounting, and full-cycle bookkeeping within a fast-paced, field-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintainand manage daily accounting operations using Sage 100(required)
• Perform full-cycle bookkeeping , including:
• AccountsPayable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Bankand credit card reconciliations
• Generalledger maintenance
• Support job costing and project-based accounting , including:
• Trackinglabor, materials, and subcontractor expenses
• Monitoringproject budgets and cost allocations
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
• Assistwith month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Generatefinancial reports to support leadership decision-making
• Ensurecompliance with internal controls, company policies, and accountingstandards
• Coordinatewith operations and project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking
• Assistwith audit preparation and documentation , as needed

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 3-7+years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Hands-onexperience with Sage 100 (mandatory)
• Experiencein construction, telecom, or project-based accounting environments
• Strongunderstanding of:
• Generalledger accounting
• Jobcosting and project accounting
• Financialreporting
• Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel
• Strongattention to detail and organizational skills
• Abilityto work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experienceacting as the sole or lead accounting resource for asmall-to-mid-sized business
• Familiaritywith inventory tracking and cost allocation
• Experiencesupporting growing or operationally complex organizations
• Associate'sor Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
