This role is responsible for managing key accounting functions including project setup, client invoicing, and ongoing cost and revenue analysis. The Project Accountant will work closely with project managers and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial tracking, timely billing, and compliance with company and client requirements.Essential Job Functions:Prepare and issue client invoices in accordance with contract terms, listing items sold and services performed, amounts due, credit terms, and dates of performanceProject initiation, maintenance, and closeout in OraclePrepare rate recalculations and cost data analysis, post invoices, credits, and adjustments into OraclePrepare project cost, revenue, unbilled/unearned reconciliations, and analysesProvide ad-hoc reports for internal and external customers as requestedResponsible for maintenance of all financial records for assigned projectsAssist with and attend quarterly project reviewsProvide accounting and financial support to management, including financial reports and account analysisServe as contact for selected clients on the collection of accounts receivableComplete special projects as neededOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Associates Degree/Certificate in Accounting Principles3+ years of experiencePrevious project cost accounting experienceStrong analytical skillsAttention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuitePhysical Requirements:Ability to work in a remote, office-based environmentAbility to sit for extended periods while working at a computerFrequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and phoneAbility to view and review detailed financial information on a screen with close visual acuityOccasional standing, walking, and reaching as neededWork Environment/Environmental Factors:Work is primarily performed in a sedentary setting with standard office equipmentRoutine use of computers and digital systems for extended periodsMay require working across multiple time zones or adjusting schedule to meet business needsFast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities and concurrent projectsLife at Tetra Tech includes:Comprehensive and market-competitive benefits.Merit-based financial rewards.Flexibility and company-wide commitment to work/life balance.Collaborative team atmosphere that values the contributions of all employees.Learning and development opportunities for ongoing professional growth.Tetra Tech is the leader in water, environment, and sustainable infrastructure, providing high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide.
