The Floor Manager is a key member of Strong Rope Brewery's front-of-house leadership team and is responsible for making sure the taproom, events, and guest-facing operations run smoothly day to day. Working closely with the General Manager and other FOH leaders, the Floor Manager leads shifts, manages and develops the FOH team, maintains operational standards, and ensures Strong Rope consistently delivers a welcoming, organized, and high-quality hospitality experience. The Floor Manager is a hands-on manager. This role is for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working alongside the team, solving problems in real time, and taking ownership when things need to get done. FLOOR MANAGER

Working closely with the General Manager and other FOH leaders, the Floor Manager leads shifts, manages and develops the FOH team, maintains operational standards, and ensures Strong Rope consistently delivers a welcoming, organized, and high-quality hospitality experience. The Floor Manager is ultimately accountable for the quality of each shift and for making sure the team, taproom, and events are prepared for success. Lead daily FOH operations by serving as Manager on Duty, overseeing opening, service, and closing procedures, assigning staff and stations, managing breaks and shift transitions, and making real-time adjustments to keep service running efficiently. Manage staffing and scheduling in partnership with the GM by building weekly schedules, matching staffing levels to sales, seasonality, reservations, and events, managing call-outs and coverage, Lead and support the FOH team by setting clear expectations, coaching employees in real time, reinforcing Strong Rope's hospitality and service standards, supporting onboarding and training, recognizing strong performance, and appropriately addressing attendance, performance, and conduct issues. Maintain an excellent guest experience by monitoring service quality, speed, cleanliness, organization, and guest flow; answering questions; resolving routine concerns; and escalating significant guest or operational issues to the GM when necessary. Keep the taproom operationally ready by ensuring guest-facing spaces are clean, organized, stocked, and properly presented, including menus, signage, music, lighting, temperature, bar stations, and other details that contribute to a strong guest experience. Manage FOH inventory and purchasing by maintaining accurate counts, establishing and monitoring pars, identifying shortages and waste, ordering routine supplies, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring that beer, beverages, bar supplies, cleaning materials, paper goods, and other operational necessities are available when needed. Support private events and reservations by coordinating with FOH leaders, reviewing upcoming events, ensuring staff understand event requirements, coordinating FOH staffing and preparation, managing day‑of bar and hospitality operations, ensuring spaces are properly reset, and identifying recurring issues or opportunities for improvement. Support public programming and community events by working with the FOH leaders to prepare the team and taproom including but not limited to music, trivia, tastings, beer releases, watch parties, and community events, while maintaining normal taproom service standards. Maintain strong communication across shifts and departments by completing shift reports, communicating information about events, reservations, staffing, beer availability, maintenance, guest issues, and operational concerns, and coordinating with brewery production and other departments when FOH needs affect their operations. Maintain a safe, organized, and accountable workplace by enforcing Strong Rope policies and service standards, addressing problems promptly, identifying safety concerns, and ensuring employees understand their responsibilities. Help develop the FOH team and operation by identifying training needs, contributing to improved SOPs and systems, sharing operational feedback with the GM, and helping create a culture where employees are supported, challenged, and empowered to do their jobs well. Take ownership of problems and outcomes by making reasonable day-to-day decisions independently, looking for solutions rather than simply identifying problems, and knowing when an issue requires GM or ownership involvement. 3+ years of hospitality experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility. Strong understanding of taproom, bar, restaurant, or hospitality operations. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Comfortable giving direction and holding employees accountable. Strong attention to detail. Ability to remain calm and make decisions in a busy environment. Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Experience working in a brewery, brewpub, craft beverage company, or community-focused hospitality business. Passion for craft beer, local businesses, and creating memorable guest experiences. Experience with POS systems, scheduling platforms, inventory systems, and spreadsheets. (including but not limited to Google Workspace, Slack, Square, TripleSeat, etc.). Ability to use operational data to make informed business decisions. Full-time, exempt leadership position. Requires flexibility including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods. Combination of active floor presence, team leadership, and administrative responsibilities,. Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities shift and hands‑on leadership is essential. Salary range: $65,000–$70,000 based on experience. Performance-based bonus potential.
