Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation

Location: Downtown Seattle, WA (On-Site, 5 Days/Week) Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $150,000-$180,000 base salary (DOE) + performance bonuses About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to independently manage a civil litigation caseload from inception through settlement or trial. This is an ideal opportunity for a litigation attorney who enjoys taking ownership of cases, appearing in court, and working closely with clients in a collaborative, in-person environment. You'll have the autonomy to lead your own matters while receiving support from experienced attorneys and paralegals. Unlike larger firms where associates spend years supporting partners, you'll immediately take a hands-on role managing litigation from start to finish. What You'll Do Independently manage a full caseload of civil litigation matters from intake through resolution or trial Handle cases involving employment law, school law, and general civil litigation Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts Attend hearings and argue motions before the court Serve as first or second chair at bench and jury trials Develop litigation strategy in partnership with clients and colleagues Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to deliver exceptional client service Qualifications Required J.D. from an accredited law school Active Washington State Bar membership in good standing 6+ years of civil litigation experience Strong experience with motion practice, discovery, and depositions Ability to independently manage cases from initiation through trial with minimal supervision Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills Strong organizational and case management abilities Stable employment history with no unexplained short tenures Preferred Experience in employment law, school law, insurance defense, or general civil litigation Proven ability to develop litigation strategy and advise clients throughout the litigation process Strong courtroom presence and confidence handling hearings and trials What We're Looking For Self-directed attorney who thrives with autonomy Trial-ready mindset with eagerness to litigate cases through trial when necessary Strong communicator who builds trust with clients Collaborative team player who enjoys working in an in-office environment Attorney who takes ownership and accountability for client outcomes Performance Bonus: 20% of billings above the monthly target (approximately 120-125 billable hours/month) Origination Bonus: 20% credit on originated business 401(k) with 4% employer match Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance 3 weeks of paid time off 1 week of paid sick leave Why Consider This Opportunity?
