Summary
The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Legal Administrative Professional III. The qualified candidate will possess a desire to learn a wide variety of new skills and be able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, working both as part of a team and independently. Employee will be trained on four desks and will rotate assignments monthly. Each person should be able to identify and troubleshoot issues on their desk. Assignments include importing new police referrals into PBK, processing criminal Superior court filings and District Court Fugitive filings, preparing and forwarding arrest warrants for issuance, and coordinating daily Rush filings. These positions require excellent organizational skills as well as knowledge of policies and procedures of District and Superior courts. About the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office

Work Schedule: This position works a 40-hour work week schedule, normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is eligible for King County's generous benefits package. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements as needed.
Employees assigned to this position enjoy a hybrid work schedule that allows telecommuting, with a minimum of 2-days in office per week, subject to business needs and a telecommuting agreement. If a successful candidate is new to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, they will be required to work in office four days a week for the first six months of employment.
Salary: Range 46- $35.36 (step one) - $44.82 (step ten) hourly*

Elodi Desk:
- Import case referrals from law enforcement.
- Troubleshoot errors or mistakes on referrals, reaching out to LE as necessary.
- Use multiple databases to identify the most recently known addresses for mailing out notifications of charges and arraignment as required by court rules.
- Assign out cases for felony review to various units.
- Maintain a daily log reflecting cases filed and distribute to law enforcement.
- Confirm custody status and determine and schedule arraignment dates per court rules.
- Check Judge's Orders and update PbK and Arrest Warrants according.
- Prepare and submit Arrest Warrants to the Clerk's Office and confirm the submittal of those warrants to KCSO Data.
- Submit Superior Court cases for Judge's review.
- Prior to filing, look over filing documents for consistency and technical PbK parameters and court requirements.
- Handle any case rejections by the Court and prepare extra Motions if necessary.
- Liaison with law enforcement, DPAs, and the Records Units for cases on the Investigation calendar.
- Work in tandem with the Investigation Desks and filing DPAs to ensure that rush cases are either held or stricken in a timely manner.
- Notify Records Unit staff on all daily filings and releases prior to the start of the Investigation calendar.
- Create fugitive charging worksheet based on referring law enforcement report and out of state warrant(s). File fugitive cases and communicate with the District Court Clerks, Central Processing Unit, and Records Investigation desk.
- Process requests for more information and declines on cases.
- Run NCIC criminal history requests.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues from weekly PbK lists of cases distributed by PAO Data Analytics.
- Liaison with the Attorney General paralegal to set up and schedule an arraignment hearing for their cases.
- Skill in maintaining an overview of complex processes.
- Possess thorough knowledge of the criminal legal system and general office principles and practices.
- Orchestrate complex workflows across different units, being able to execute multiple tasks with competing priorities accurately, prioritizing based on urgency and upcoming deadlines.
- Ability to use good judgement to recognize issues and take quick and effective actions, pivoting when work demands require.
- Skills in exercising initiative, following through on work assignments with little direct supervision, and anticipating needs and responding appropriately.
- Assist DPAs with working in PbK and troubleshooting issues at pre-filing stage.
- Must have extensive knowledge of PbK.
- Should be proficient in Adobe Pro, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, FORS, JABS, JMS, and KC Script - and know how to work with a variety of file formats.
- Desire to work in a team environment and contribute to unit discussions where issues and procedures are discussed.
- Skills in interpersonal communication. Provide information based on acquired job knowledge - specifically with co-workers, law enforcement, DPAs, clerks, and judicial personnel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion involving sensitive matters.
- Being receptive to instructional feedback, supervision, and coaching procedures - the way we do business often changes.
- Demonstrate predictable and reliable attendance.
