Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents to identify individual needs, using standardized tools and personal interviews.

• Develop personalized treatment plans that take into account each patient's developmental stage, family dynamics, and specific mental health challenges.
\n
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, to effectively address issues like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.
\n
• Facilitate family therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication and fostering a reliable support system among parents, caregivers, and children.
\n
• Work collaboratively with child psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to create coordinated care plans that holistically address patient needs.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies involving young patients.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to empower informed decision-making.
\n
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation following legal guidelines and ethical standards to ensure effective tracking of patient progress.

• Engage actively in team meetings, share insights during case consultations, and pursue continuous professional development activities.

• Keep abreast of current research, clinical practices, and advancements in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry to enhance therapeutic approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents, addressing a variety of mental health disorders including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other behavioral issues that can significantly affect their daily lives. The role requires a keen understanding of developmental psychology and the ability to adapt therapeutic strategies to suit the unique needs of younger populations.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker - R Privilege (LCSW-R), Licensed Psychoanalyst, or Psychologist in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
\n
• Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health issues, along with familiarity with evidence-based interventions and therapeutic methodologies.

• Experience providing individual and family therapy to young patients, utilizing a range of modalities tailored to children's needs.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, paired with a nurturing and patient-centered approach to therapy.

• A demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits\n
