Evergreen Diagnostic and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health therapist to join our vibrant outpatient team in Babylon, New York. This primarily remote position allows for flexible scheduling while ensuring that our therapists remain integrated within the community mental health clinic framework. A typical work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening sessions to accommodate patient requirements.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of children and adolescents to identify mental health needs and develop tailored treatment plans.

• Design and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions addressing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions, engaging parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process to strengthen support systems.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to mental health care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during acute mental health emergencies, guiding families through challenging times.

• Maintain accurate documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant clinical records in compliance with legal standards.

• Participate in team meetings to discuss case progress, share insights, and enhance practice-based knowledge.

• Stay informed on the latest research trends and advancements in child and adolescent mental health to continually improve therapeutic practices.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a regionally accredited institution is required.

• Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.

• Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent mental health issues and familiarity with evidence-based psychotherapeutic modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills are necessary, including the ability to engage with children and teenagers effectively.

• Confident in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for maintaining patient documentation and communication.

• A strong commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and best practices in mental health care.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred.

• Prior experience providing therapy in a community mental health setting or with a focus on child and adolescent populations is highly desirable.

• Proven track record of successful family therapy practice.
