California Licensed Senior Counsel

Experienced California Licensed Senior Counsel will manage strategic partnerships in a full-time capacity, overseeing the legal structuring of banking products and services while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation and regulatory compliance, both remotely and onsite in San Francisco. Key Responsibilities Lead the legal structuring of bank-fintech payments partnerships, including drafting and reviewing key agreements and customer-facing terms Drive product strategy and innovation by partnering with business teams and fintech partners from ideation through launch, anticipating challenges and providing legal guidance Build and evolve regulatory frameworks for existing and new products, ensuring compliance with applicable banking regulations and standards Required Qualifications J.D. or equivalent, currently licensed in a U.S. state, with 7-15+ years of legal experience, including both law firm and in-house roles in fintech or financial institutions Deep expertise in banking infrastructure, embedded finance solutions, and regulatory frameworks related to payments and money transmission Strong ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with a solid understanding of contract law Comprehensive knowledge of NACHA rules, Regulation E, and other relevant banking regulations Proven ability to manage a high volume of cross-functional legal work efficiently and effectively
