Vice President, Product Management

The Vice President, Product Management is responsible for defining and executing Citadel's product strategy and leading the growth, profitability, and performance of the organization's product portfolio. This role serves as the primary owner of product vision, product economics, lifecycle management, and portfolio performance across consumer and business banking products. The VP partners across the organization to ensure products meet evolving member needs, drive business growth, strengthen member relationships, and support Citadel's strategic objectives. The Vice President leads the Product Management team and is accountable for product adoption, profitability, retention, innovation, and long-term portfolio success. This is a foundational role. Beyond running the existing portfolio, the VP will stand up Citadel's product operating model and define the future-state Product organization—its structure, talent model, and operating rhythm—as the function matures. The mission is not to manage products, but to create product value and growth: each product is treated as a business to be grown, and Product Managers are expected to operate as accountable business owners rather than feature owners.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the enterprise product strategy and roadmap.
• Lead product lifecycle management, including product development, enhancement, optimization, and retirement.
• Drive portfolio growth, profitability, adoption, utilization, and member retention.
• Own product pricing, positioning, business cases, and performance metrics.
• Utilize member insights, market research, and industry trends to identify opportunities and inform product decisions. Establish a repeatable discovery and validation practice (Voice of Member) to test assumptions before building.
• Establish product priorities and investment recommendations based on member value, financial return, strategic alignment, and operational feasibility.
• Hold final decision authority over the product roadmap, features, pricing recommendations, and lifecycle decisions, applying a consistent value-based gate rather than advancing work solely because a single business unit requests it.
• Manage product investment as a single portfolio across Grow, Optimize, and Innovate horizons, supported by a disciplined quarterly prioritization and review rhythm.
• Partner with Marketing, Digital, Technology, Operations, Retail, Finance, and Member Experience to deliver successful product outcomes.
• Establish product management as a discipline—clearly defining what Product owns, protecting the team from scope creep, and aligning partner functions on how Product creates value and where decision rights sit.
• Monitor product performance and implement strategies to improve growth, competitiveness, and member engagement.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Product Management team.
• Build and scale the Product function—defining the operating model, roles, and talent plan needed to support Citadel's growth as the organization matures.
• Lead hands-on as a player-coach—staying close to members, data, and experiments and engaging directly in the work, not from a distance.
• Ensure products operate within regulatory requirements and sound banking practices.

Qualifications & Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in product management, banking, financial services, fintech, or a related field.
• Proven success leading product strategy, portfolio management, product growth, and lifecycle management.
• Strong knowledge of consumer and business banking products and services.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing organizational priorities.
• Demonstrated success developing and leading high-performing teams.
• Experience standing up, building, or materially scaling a product function or operating model—not only running an established one.
• Fluency with digital banking platforms and modern product tooling (e.g., digital account opening, online/mobile banking, CDP, and experimentation), with the ability to partner credibly with Digital and Technology.

• Innovation velocity: time to launch, new-product contribution, and experiment success rate.
• Organizational health: a functioning product operating model and a high-performing, well-developed team—such that the VP can answer each month which products are winning, which are losing, and what is being done about it.
