Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification required for the state of Arizona
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum is strongly preferred
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs to meet students’ needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Must be able to clear fingerprint and background checks prior to starting

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students, primarily in the autism program, adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning styles
• Assess students’ skills and learning needs, and create individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate closely with supervisors, paraprofessionals, and related service staff to deliver a cohesive educational experience
• Engage and communicate with families and caregivers to foster a supportive partnership
• Document student progress, maintaining accurate records as required by the district
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training as offered
