Maintenance Technician

Location: Youngstown, OH
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour to start (based on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and mechanically skilled Maintenance Technician to support our Maintenance and Production teams in Youngstown, Ohio. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role serves as the first point of contact for equipment and machinery issues, ensuring production equipment remains safe, efficient, and operational.

The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting abilities, electrical experience, and hands-on experience working with industrial machinery, tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production and processing equipment.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions through observation, testing, and inspection.
• Repair or replace defective mechanical and electrical components.
• Disassemble engines and mechanical systems for inspection and repair.
• Clean and inspect parts such as pistons, valves, transmissions, and clutches.
• Identify worn, damaged, or defective components and recommend corrective actions.
• Install new or refurbished parts, including brake bands, clutch plates, sprockets, pump cylinders, and related components.
• Reassemble machinery and equipment following inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Test pumps and other mechanical systems to verify proper operation.
• Perform routine equipment inspections to identify potential issues before they impact production.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.
• Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately.
  

Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Experience using voltmeters, testing devices, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond with urgency when needed.
• Adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
