Job Summary Associate – Corporate – Asset Management / GP Stakes. Locations: Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Washington, DC. Minimum of 4years experience. Join the Asset Management Transactions practice within the Corporate Practice Group focused on M&A and private equity. Responsibilities Lead and advise on full spectrum of corporate transactions involving asset managers, investment funds, broker‑dealers, financial advisors, and ancillary financial services businesses. Structure and negotiate buy‑out/control transactions, minority GP stakes, joint ventures, management team spin‑outs, lift‑outs, carve‑outs, corporate restructurings, separations, and succession planning. Provide additional liquidity solutions including continuation funds, preferred equity, structured and synthetic secondaries, LP portfolio sales, NAV financings, strip sales, and tender offers. Advise on investment regulatory, enforcement, and compliance matters. Qualifications Minimum of 4years experience in asset‑management M&A, including GP stakes and control transactions. Proficiency in transaction law, structuring, negotiation, and regulatory compliance. Strong analytical, communication, and client‑management skills. Experience or familiarity with corporate transactions involving asset managers, private‑equity firms, GP‑staking firms, banks, insurers, and other financial institutions. BA/BS or equivalent; JD or advanced legal credential preferred. Commitment to confidentiality and protection of highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information. Pay Range Associate base salary ranges from $225,000 (2026) to $435,000 (2018) on the US payroll, plus discretionary bonuses depending on application circumstances and position. 2026: $225,000; 2025: $225,000; 2024: $235,000; 2023: $260,000; 2022: $310,000; 2021: $365,000; 2020: $390,000; 2019: $420,000; 2018: $435,000.
