Role Description The Medical Receptionist is a part-time, on-site role based in Smithtown, NY. This role is responsible for greeting patients, checking them in and out, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient front-desk experience. Daily tasks include answering and directing phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, verifying patient information, and collecting necessary documentation. The Medical Receptionist will maintain organized patient flow, coordinate with clinical staff, manage incoming messages, and handle basic inquiries about services and office procedures. The role also involves maintaining a clean and orderly reception area, respecting patient confidentiality, and using medical office software to support smooth operations. Qualifications Strong Appointment Scheduling and Receptionist Duties skills to manage patient flow and front-desk operations effectively. Professional Phone Etiquette to handle calls, messages, and patient communications in a courteous and clear manner. Familiarity with Medical Terminology and experience in a Medical Office setting to support accurate registration and coordination with clinical staff. Proficiency with basic computer systems and electronic scheduling or EHR software. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to patient privacy and adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
