Job Details Job Location: Bronx Youth Center – 2999 Third Avenue – Bronx, NY 10455 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year Job Shift: Day Job Category: Nonprofit – Social Services Hours: Full‑Time Monday‑Friday, 35 hours per week in‑person. Occasional evenings may be required. Overview The Door is an unparalleled model for youth development, offering a comprehensive range of integrated services within a single site for nearly eleven thousand New York City youth each year. Our mission is to empower young adults to reach their full potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment. At The Door, youth can access health care and education, mental health counseling and crisis assistance, legal assistance, college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, sports and recreational activities, and nutritious meals – all for free and under one roof. By providing participants with our suite of integrated services, we seek to provide any motivated young person with the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully transition to adulthood. Responsibilities Maintain supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies Process requests for payment and manage ordering, purchasing and invoicing activities Assist with quality assurance maintenance of data systems, filing, and administration of contracts, and maintain contact lists Generate memos, emails, and reports to support programs and scheduling meetings/appointments Be the point‑person for all front desk related duties including but not limited to answering phones, greeting visitors, directing visitors to the appropriate personnel, and redirecting young people to classes Respond to internal and external questions and requests for information Participate in relevant departmental, agency, and external agency meetings, trainings, workshops, and events Handle any appropriate additional responsibilities and functions as assigned by Supervisor and/or Director Perform tasks as requested by senior management Assist Administrative Assistant in answering email inquiries Monitor and respond to emails received in BYC general inbox Qualifications and Requirements High School Diploma or HSE required with two years of experience of administrative work; Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum of 2 years in an administrative related position required Knowledge of and ability to apply positive youth development principles to working with young people Proficiency in Microsoft Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast‑paced office environment Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately Proficiency in Spanish and French required Multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
