Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week, day shift. Weekend shifts assigned according to unit staffing needs. May be required to float to affiliated hospitals within a short walking distance (approximately 5-6 minutes). 36-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down environment with 1:3 patient ratios across all shifts
• Float pool position providing exposure to diverse patient populations and diagnoses
• Epic charting system utilized for all documentation
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and more
• 12-month contract assignment with two pre-approved time-off periods available
• First-time travelers welcome; profiles with only 1 year of experience will be individually reviewed by management

Requirements:

• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
• Epic charting experience required
• Proficiency in IV starts and cardiac telemetry required
• Skills required include: telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, vasoactive drip management, central and peripheral line care, arterial line management, blood product administration, chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
