Business Operations Coordinator – Part‑time (20 hrs/week) The American Red Cross seeks a Business Operations Coordinator to support the South Florida Region’s Fort Myers or Sarasota office. The position includes 20 hours per week with benefits. Preferred schedule: two 8‑hour days and one 4‑hour day, flexible. Job Overview The Coordinator will perform transactional activities such as budget monitoring, handling daily finance transactions, managing local vendor relationships, facilities management, and running records/reports to support finance, operations, and administrative functions. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to volunteers. Specific Duties Keep offices running and troubleshoot operations issues. Process deposits. Manage maintenance services for vehicles. Manage vendors. Implement new policies and procedures. Travel once weekly to the other office. Responsibilities Provide administrative budget support: expense coding, financial report dissemination, monthly forecasting, procurement transactions, cash and card transaction processes, and budget compliance with department leaders. Lead system user/training for Business Applications and IT Services, troubleshoot phone and computer issues, and assist with tech service requests. Support facilities/asset management: complete repairs within budget, manage vendor activities, obtain proposals, aid real estate transactions, update risk management system. Maintain fleet inventory records, file and manage insurance claims and follow up repairs. Maintain insurance certificates, financial collection processes, and regulated item forms for alcohol for meeting planning. Provide guidance and data for grant reports and respond to internal/external requests. Develop, maintain, and distribute a regional Standard Operating Procedures Manual. Qualifications Education: High School or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 years of financial or facilities administrative support experience in community organizations, government agencies, non‑profit organizations, business or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Skills & Abilities: Teamwork, planning, prioritization, organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, ability to maintain collaborative relationships, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Travel: Required throughout the Region with some travel outside the Region. Physical Requirements Normal office environment. Ability to use a personal computer and office equipment for sustained periods, sit for long periods, drive a vehicle, and work under challenging conditions.
