Position Overview

Global Hydraulics Organization within the Integrated Components & Solutions Division (ICD) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support global hydraulic components and cab component initiatives.

This position is a hybrid engineering and project-focused role with responsibility for product value creation, cost management, supplier collaboration, product development, and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. The successful candidate will work closely with global engineering teams, suppliers, procurement professionals, manufacturing teams, and business partners to identify and execute product value and cost improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global engineering teams, hydraulic component suppliers, and procurement professionals to identify and deliver product value opportunities.
• Lead and support sustainable value creation and product cost management initiatives for global hydraulic and cab components.
• Maintain and manage the department's sustainable value creation dashboard.
• Analyze large datasets, identify key trends and business opportunities, and summarize findings for leadership and stakeholder reviews.
• Develop and deliver technical and commercial presentations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support product design and engineering activities for purchased finished and supplier-designed components.
• Serve as a product design engineering lead for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Support the development and application of new hydraulic cylinder solutions.
• Apply knowledge of hydraulic system architecture and components to evaluate product requirements and engineering solutions.
• Review and define functional requirements and detailed component specifications.
• Conduct design analysis, verification, validation, and technical design reviews.
• Evaluate material properties, manufacturing processes, and product design requirements.
• Lead technical collaboration sessions with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Create and maintain project plans, schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder reporting.
• Support product cost analysis and value engineering initiatives.
• Analyze customer product performance challenges and support the development of improved product solutions.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed according to program timelines and business requirements.
  
  
  
  

Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Attend and lead collaborative team meetings with internal product development teams and suppliers.
• Create and update project management plans and project schedules.
• Conduct product cost analysis and engineering design analysis.
• Review engineering specifications, technical drawings, schematics, and supplier documentation.
• Conduct project stakeholder reviews and report project progress.
• Analyze large datasets and summarize key findings, trends, and business impacts.
• Apply engineering knowledge to evaluate hydraulic component designs and technical requirements.
• Coordinate technical and commercial information for leadership and stakeholder reviews.
• Manage project deliverables independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Team Structure and Work Environment

Team Size: Approximately 30 35 team members, including full-time employees and agency workers.

Work Environment: Professional office environment.

Collaboration: The position will involve frequent interaction with global product development teams, engineering teams, suppliers, procurement professionals, manufacturing teams, and business partners.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another accredited Engineering discipline preferred.
• Candidates with an Applied Engineering or Technical Business background may also be considered.
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Master's degree candidates with approximately 3 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
• Internship experience will not be considered toward the required professional experience.
• Experience in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Product Development, or Engineering Project Leadership.

Candidates with experience in hydraulics, hydraulic components, mechanical design, supplier collaboration, NPI programs, product cost analysis, or value engineering will be highly preferred.

This individual should be comfortable analyzing large datasets, identifying product and business improvement opportunities, managing cross-functional engineering projects, and communicating technical and commercial findings to global stakeholders and leadership teams.
