Daley College is located on the southwest side of Chicago. The Advanced Manufacturing College to Careers program is headquartered at Richard J. Daley College. The Department is currently seeking a Philosophy Adjunct Faculty to begin Fall Semester 2026. Please note: This position may require fully teaching in-person, as hybrid schedules are not guaranteed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You must demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed. Maintain office hours for advising, mentoring and coaching students. Development and revision of courses and instructional materials as necessary. Post syllabi and grades on Blackboard.QUALIFICATIONS
At minimum, you must have a MA in Philosophy. In addition to the minimum requirements, you must be focused on effective teaching; assessment of student learning; and continuous growth in the field of study. We also value expertise in student-centered teaching; facility with instructional technology, including Blackboard Learning Management System; and a commitment to professional development in teaching. The salary range is the following per contact hour based on education: Master's - $800, Master's +30 - $837, Doctorate/Terminal (including MFA) -$943. Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. Note: Unofficial transcripts, a statement of your teaching philosophy and professional letters of recommendation are required at the time of interview. Official transcripts must be provided if hired.
