Adjunct Lecturer in Law - Contract Drafting, Analysis and Negotiation for LLM Students

LAW 708 Contract Drafting, Analysis and Negotiation for LLM Students (2 units) This is an introductory course in contract drafting, negotiation, and managing business transactions. Students will become familiar with essential contract provisions and negotiation theory to gain a deeper understanding of the lawyer’s role as a deal facilitator and business advisor. The course will emphasize practical lawyering skills to execute a client’s business strategy and will introduce students to various concepts and documents common to a sophisticated transactional practice. Candidates must have a JD and at least five years of practical experience, including experience in the course subject matter. Teaching experience is preferred. Instructors must be local, as this course will be taught on campus. The position is an Adjunct appointment for faculty teaching less than full‑time at USC. Adjunct Lecturers are required to complete specific training requirements as a condition of employment. Required training includes: Harassment Prevention Training at the time of hire and every two years thereafter Integrity and Accountability Code Training at the time of hire Information Security training annually Workplace Violence Prevention Plan training annually Additional trainings may be required based on specific job responsibilities The base salary range for this position is $2,433.66 - $9,984.65 per semester.
