Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Louisville, TN . This is a full-time, onsite role responsible for leading tax planning, preparation, and compliance services for both individual and business clients. The ideal candidate will provide strategic tax guidance, oversee complex tax engagements, supervise staff, and collaborate with accounting and advisory teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage tax planning, preparation, and compliance for individual and business clients.
• Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop proactive tax strategies to minimize liabilities and support client financial goals.
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of tax staff and preparers.
• Research and interpret tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
• Resolve tax notices, audits, and other tax-related issues.
• Communicate tax planning opportunities and regulatory updates to clients.
• Participate in client meetings and provide trusted tax advisory services.
• Collaborate with bookkeeping and financial advisory teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, workflows, and quality control procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Tax Planning , Tax Strategy , Tax Compliance , and Tax Preparation .
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Several years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a similar professional services environment.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and general accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
• Enrolled Agent (EA) certification will also be considered.
• Experience providing tax advisory services to both individual and business clients.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
