Location

This is a fully on-site, full-time position based in Roseland, New Jersey, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative office environment and enjoys being closely integrated with their attorney and team.

Note

This role requires prior hands-on family law experience in a law firm setting and strong familiarity with New Jersey family court procedures.

Job Description

• Provide direct daily support to a Partner in the Family Law practice
• Manage calendars, deadlines, court dates, and scheduling with accuracy
• Draft, revise, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
• Transcribe dictation and electronic recordings with precision
• Handle frequent document edits and revisions based on attorney feedback
• Coordinate e-filing and interact with court staff, experts, and opposing counsel
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding document requests and updates
• Maintain organized case files and track key deadlines
• Assist with billing support, including draft bills and collections tracking
• Provide administrative and overflow support to other attorneys as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Family Law Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary
• Working knowledge of New Jersey family law procedures and court rules
• Advanced Microsoft Word skills, especially formatting and document revisions
• Strong organizational, time management, and proofreading abilities
• Professional communication skills and comfort working with sensitive matters
• Ability to handle a high volume of work with shifting priorities
• Willingness to work overtime when required
