Accounting Clerk II

Position Title: Accounting Clerk II (S) Position Number: 60067194 Grade: NC03 Location: Roanoke River Correctional Institution, Halifax County, NC Overview The Accounting Clerk II (S) monitors all expenditures for a medium custody facility, including management of a minimum custody facility within the larger institution. The role is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget control, E‑Procurement, NCFS, financial reporting, and fiscal policy compliance. Responsibilities Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budget transfers. Maintain E‑Procurement and NCFS for all supplies and equipment, including requisitions, purchase orders, expense vouchers, and welfare expenditures. Manage P‑Card usage, reconcile P‑Card accounts, and process P‑Card purchases. Generate financial reports and compile information for statistical reporting. Assist in budget preparation and provide fiscal policy guidance. Operate the DAC Accounting System for ordering and receiving goods and services. Collaborate with DAC staff, DAC Administration, Controller’s Office, Purchasing, and vendors on fiscal matters. Perform backup duties for the Accounting Clerk I, including inmate trust fund and incentive wage responsibilities. Assist management staff with additional duties as directed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Documented knowledge of accounting methods, procedures, and practices. Demonstrated experience processing accounts payable in an accounting software application. Knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office programs. Preferred: experience with E‑Procurement and NCFS. Salary & Benefits Salary Range: $31,200 – $53,812 per year.
