Position Details Working Title: Maintenance Regional Manager Classification: CALTRANS MAINTENANCE MANAGER II Salary Range: $8,625.00 - $10,724.00 (minimum salary for new candidates) Work Location: Orange County, CA Telework: In Office Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Job Code: JC-520681 Responsibilities Under the general direction and supervision of the Deputy District Director of Maintenance and Operations, the incumbent is responsible for implementing, evaluating, and sustaining major programs and maintenance policies in the assigned Maintenance Region. The incumbent will advise and consult with top-level district and statewide management, and will propose new programs, directions, or legislation as appropriate. Eligibility and Qualifications Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Caltrans Maintenance Manager II exam. Candidates who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment must be on the state examination list. Resumes and cover letters are optional; a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ), no more than two pages in length, typed in 12‑point Arial, is required. Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview or appointment. Applicants with foreign transcripts must provide an equivalency report from an approved agency. Special Requirements A drug screening must be passed prior to being hired. Substantial field work requires possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License. Controlling field staff requires being able to analyze and evaluate field performance and reported data to ensure intended goals and objectives are met within budget allocations.
