Overview Clinical Specialist I, CPT – Fresno, CA. Abbott’s Clinical Support Team provides technical clinical expertise and sales support for Chronic Pain Therapies across the assigned territory. Responsibilities Provide technical, clinical and programming assistance primarily for Territory Managers. Assist Territory Managers with after‑hours call support. Build trust and strong rapport with customers and physicians. Conduct PCP work and educational services as directed. Contact, visit and engage clients to explain Abbott products and address questions. Provide medical professionals with training, in‑services, and technical troubleshooting. Maintain deep knowledge of assigned accounts, competitor activity, and market conditions. Conduct evaluations and develop sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities within accounts. Provide feedback on implantable device use in operating room and outside operating room settings. Attend trade shows and conferences to showcase new products and technology. Use clinical expertise to identify customer training and in‑service needs to increase product usage and understanding. Comply with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, and task assignments. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Travel up to 25% within the assigned region and/or outside the assigned region. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1–2 years of relevant work experience, with strong preference for clinical collaboration with patients. Ability to communicate, interpret, and educate clinical data in the Chronic Pain Therapies space. Strong clinical skills, excellent organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills. Excellent interpersonal verbal, written, and presentation skills, capable of communicating at multiple levels and presenting to large groups. Capability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to work an unpredictable schedule and manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines. Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse business environment. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, changing environment. Capable of engaging customers in sales conversations as needed and as directed by the Territory Manager. Preferred: patient interaction experience within a healthcare environment (physical therapy, RN, LPN). Preferred: experience working in an enterprise or cross‑division business model. Preferred: 1–3 years of experience with Abbott or a similar spinal cord stimulation (SCS) or implantable medical device company. Travel & Work Conditions Travel required up to 25% within the assigned region and/or outside the assigned region. Significant work activities include continuous standing for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8‑hour day), continuous walking for prolonged periods (more than 2 hours at a time in an 8‑hour day), and driving a personal auto or company vehicle.
